Broomsticks Needed For Polish Transport

Ipswich Witches team boss Pete Simmons is keeping his fingers crossed that there will be a window in the cloud of volcanic ash sufficient to allow Polish riders Robert Miskowiak and Dawid Stachyra to take their place in the Witches team to face Belle Vue in Manchester on Monday evening.

Both riders are currently stranded in Poland and if there is no improvement in the situation over the weekend Ipswich will track the same team that defeated Eastbourne at Foxhall last Thursday.

Witches number 8 Ritchie Hawkins is rewarded for his match winning performance against the Eagles with a place in the line-up as Carl Wilkinson seeks a solution to the mechanical problems that have dogged him in recent meetings. Hawkins top scored for Somerset in their win against Somerset on Friday while Scott Nicholls topped the Belle Vue score sheet with 14 points guesting for the Mancunians at Coventry.
