Speedway is a fantastic night out and one of the world's most unique motor-sports. Riders from two teams compete against each other on 500cc methanol-fuelled bikes, with no brakes or gears, which are capable of reaching speeds of up to 80mph! The Ipswich Witches race in the Sky Sports Elite League, the top tier of league racing in the UK.

The Sky Sports team visit all Elite League tracks during a season, broadcasting live racing on a Monday evening. Speedway has become the third highest viewed sport on Sky TV and is one of the broadcaster’s most successful sports enterprises. Our management team also appear in local radio broadcasts throughout the year on BBC Radio Suffolk who also provide live commentary for some meetings.

Alongside television exposure via Sky Sports, other mediums of sponsorship and advertising with us include air barrier banners, heat sponsorship or programme advertising where your company can be viewed by up to 5,000 people per week. This circulation increases even further when action shots taken by our photographers are featured in local/national newspapers and websites throughout the season. Online advertising is available on this website which can have as many as 15,000 hits on a meeting day. The website address is clearly displayed on our rider's vans, which travel regularly throughout Europe.

Rider Sponsorship 2009 (2010 prices tbc)

Witches riders generally incur costs of up to £252 per meeting, broken down as follows:-

  • Engine - £80
  • Clutch - £50
  • Tyre - £35
  • Breakages - £30
  • Insurance - £22.50
  • Oil - £15
  • Sundries - £7
  • Goggles & tear offs - £6.50
  • Methanol - £6
  • Total £252 per meeting.

These are incurred regardless of any points scored and some costs can increase if a rider has more than 4 or 5 rides in a meeting. Additionally these costs exclude any rebuilding necessary after a crash or engine failure.
