Duo Injured In Tv Horror Show

The Ipswich Witches suffered more injury woes in front of the Sky TV cameras at Brandon Stadium earlier this evening, losing both their reserves Dawid Stachyra & Kozza Smith in a dramatic heat 2 crash that saw just one rider complete the race; a far from fit Kozza!

After an opening race 3-3 the Witches were looking good for a heat advantage in heat 2 when Ricky Wells crashed into Kozza and fell. He was rightly judged to be the cause of the stoppage and disqualified.  In the re-run the Witches duo were again looking good for a 5-1 when Jordan Frampton misjudged the inside line coming off the second bend and crashed heavily into Dawid, who could not avoid taking out his team mate, Kozza.

Dawid was attended to for several minutes with suspected burns to his arm before being stretchered off the track for further medical attention, he would clearly be taking no further part in the meeting. The second re-run of Heat 2 saw a far from fit Kozza complete four painful laps on his own to collect three points before he too was withdrawn from the meeting.

The Witches battled gamely on but any chance to take points from the meeting were effectively over once they were restricted to just five riders, particularly given the Witches reserves appeared to have the measure of their Bees counterparts.
