Good Weekend For Witches Riders
No fixture for the Witches this weekend but a number of Ipswich riders turned in excellent performances up and down the country.
Pride of place goes to the 'Blonde Bombshell', Linus Sundstrom, who scored a flawless 15 point maximum for Premier League Rye House in their narrow 47 – 43 victory over the Somerset Rebels including a match winning ride in the final heat. Witches boss Chris Louis said:” I went down to Rye House to help Linus but he certainly didn’t need it! Even when he missed the start he was muscling his way past the opposition”.
Meanwhile Olly Allen was racing in the Michal Makovsky Testimonial meeting up at Berwick and finished as runner up with 12 points behind GB Grand Prix star Chris Harris. Carl Wilkinson scored 4 points.
Witches number 8 Ritchie Hawkins scored a creditable 9 points from 4 rides in Somerset’s close win over Newport on Friday evening but struggled initially the following evening on the slick Rye House circuit. After some advice from Chris Louis on his bike set up however he scored a good second in his final race when according to Chris Louis: “He looked as fast as Linus”
Scott Nicholls just missed out on a semi-final spot in the Brandonapolis at Coventry on Friday scoring 9 points in a high class field.
