Pairs Meeting Won By Former Witches

Two former Ipswich Witches riders, Chris Schramm and Shane Parker, came out top in last night's Anglian Pairs meeting at Foxhall.

One of the current Witches riders, Troy Batchelor, was runner-up with his partner Joe Haines as they had beaten brothers Danny and Jason King in heat six after both pairs finished on equal points. For Danny this was his first meeting after suffering a cracked sternum in Sweden two weeks ago and he appeared to be back to full race fitness, being beaten only once by Ipswich team mate, Troy Batchelor in heat 6.

The scoring format used was the same as the Elite League Pairs held last weekend; four points for a win, three for second place, two for third and nothing for coming last. Every pair met each other once and the top scorers after 15 heats were declared the winners.

Unfortunately in the final race of the evening Ipswich fans saw one of their riders, Tobi Kroner, fall after locking bikes with Chris Schramm as they approached the first bend off the start line. Initial reports suggest he has a broken collarbone.
