Robert Miskowiak Wins 16 Lap Classic!
Robert Miskowiak became the first Pole to win the 16 Lap Classic last night and was a deserving victor after being unbeaten in the qualifying heats.
Danny King pulled up in his first heat and took no further part in the meeting after aggravating his shoulder injury and Scott Nicholls failed to turn up due to a virus.
16 Lap Final:
Line Up: Front Row - Allen, Stachyra, Wilkinson, Sundstrom
Line Up: Back Row - Batchelor, Schlein, Shields, Miskowiak
Note: All the riders on the back row get 2 points added to their qualifying points.
The final race was stopped at the start of lap 8 after Olly Allen fell off while in the lead. Rory Schlein then fell whilst taking avoiding action. After being attended to by the paramedics he was taken to Ipswich Hospital suffering from suspected rib injuries. Olly Allen was excluded for being the cause of the stoppage.
Re-run of final (9 laps this time): Batchelor and Sundstrom started off the back grid while the others were all off the front grid.
Adam Shields initially took the lead but was closely pursued by Robert Miskowiak who finally got past on the back straight of the last lap to take the win, Troy Batchelor then passed Adam on the last bend to take second place.
