Track Changes - Shale Sponsorship Scheme
Many of you will have seen the recent press releases regarding our plans to make track changes at Foxhall before the start of the 2010 season. The difference the proposed changes would make to the circuit is significant, as Chris Louis has explained.
“The track will come in four and a half metres from the middle (apex) of the bends, and one and a half metres down the straights – that’s quite a lot. It is a long time since the track was last changed, back in John Berry’s day I think. But since the advent of lay-down engines, bikes’ characteristics have changed and riders speed more into the corner. Riders are also more aggressive today, space is what they need and that is what we want to provide them with at Foxhall.”
“The track will be slightly more circular and I’m sure the times will be a bit faster.” Chris added. “But for me this is not about times, but more entertainment, different lines and different attitudes to our track. I want a track that will produce entertainment and excitement. I think when the fans see the finished article they are going to be impressed.”
We would like to invite you to take part in helping us to raise the required funds to ensure the success of this project. Guy Nicholls from Forkrent has offered support, as have a couple of other local businesses, but we need more help to make sure that the track changes can be completed in time for the 2010 season.
Our target for this phase of the sponsorship scheme is to raise £5000 to purchase shale for the new track. The graphic below shows 200 plots that can be purchased for £25 each - each plot will be filled in as it is sold and the sponsor’s details will be shown here: Shale Sponsorship Scheme This will be displayed on the website for the duration of the 2010 season as a record of all who helped make the track changes happen. So if you are looking for inspiration for a birthday or xmas present for family and friends why not buy a plot (or two) for them and help make this project a success and your visits more enjoyable next year! Note: the plots will normally be allocated in numerical order but if you would like to choose a particular number please send an email to the address supplied on the application form below and we will reserve it/them for you.
